Product Description

Pallet rack wire mesh decking is a main product in our product line. It is widely used in warehouse, as an accessory of rack. Wire mesh decking is commonly used as a safety measure on warehouse storage selective pallet rack to prevent pallets or the products stored on them from falling through the storage rack structure. Wire mesh decking comes in various thicknesses and mesh dimensions. Most wire mesh extends across the top and down the front of the beam to provide more support, and is more desirable in the marketplace.

Pallet Rack Wire Mesh Decking

Wire decking is a common accessory for pallet racking. It’s made of a metal mesh that’s designed to fit firmly between the front and rear rack beams. It provides a base for placing inventory, mostly non-palletized products, cases, and cartons, and stops items from falling through the rack. The mesh design is special because it lets water and light pass through, unlike solid surface products.

There are all kinds of wire gauge options depending on your inventory needs. You can also pick from several finishes like powder coat, oven-baked enamel, hot-dipped galvanized, pre-galvanized, or electro-zinc plated. Choosing your finish depends on the conditions in the warehouse.

Wire deck design is divided into two main types – Flared Channel Deck and Step Deck. The Flared channel deck is used for structural or box beams and sometimes for step beams. Step decks fit step beams uniquely, as the name suggests. Within these two types, there are specific channel designs that act as the supports for the deck. The channel options change depending on the types of pallet rack beams they’re installed on, such as step, ledge, box or structural.

An example of a standard wire deck is: 42” deep x 46” wide for step beam with three channels and a stated capacity of 1000kgs. The usual number of support channels is typically 3, and 4 for wider decks. See below for measurement steps to figure out the right deck size.

The Flared channel deck is a waterfall design where the wire wraps around the outside of the beam, but the support underneath flares out and rests on the top of the beam.
