» How to design warehouse aisle and how to calculate the size?

When planning and arranging warehouse racking system, it is not only necessary to consider the size, structure and carrying capacity of the racking themselves, but also to plan and design the warehouse racking aisles. The narrower and fewer the racking aisles, the higher the space utilization rate will be, especially for high-rise heavy-duty racking. It is rare to move after placing the position, so it is necessary to calculate and plan the width of the racking aisle in the early stage. Aceally Group has sorted out 4 common calculation methods for the width of the warehouse shelf aisle, and can carry out the warehouse shelf aisle for you. Dimension calculations and warehouse racking aisle width design help.

1. For light-sized storage shelves and medium-sized longspan shelves that use manual access to goods, the width of the aisle = the width of the largest turnover box on the rack + 200mm. Operation

2. For heavy-duty racks that use electric stackers to store and retrieve goods, the width of the channel = the length of the electric stacker (including the length of the pallet beyond the fork) + 2*300mm, depending on the right-angle stacking of the electric stacker channel width. When using a walking electric stacker, the width of the aisle of the warehouse rack is usually 2.1 meters; when using a standing full-electric stacker, the width of the aisle of the warehouse racking is usually 2.4m or 2.6m; when using a forward-moving full-electric stacker At the same time, the width of the warehouse racking channel is usually 3m.

3. For heavy-duty racks that use electric forklifts to store and retrieve goods, the width of the racking channel = the rotatable diameter of the length of the electric forklift (including the length of the pallet beyond the fork) + the U-turn insurance distance, depending on the right-angle stacking channel and turning of the forklift The radius is generally between 3.5 meters and 4.5 meters.

4. The size of the drive-in channel = the width of the pallet + 240mm-the width of the column. Taking the drive in pallet racking with 90*70*2.0 columns and 1200*1200 pallets as an example, the size of the racking channel = 1200+240-90= 1350mm.
