Forklift is an industrial transport vehicle, which refers to various wheeled transport vehicles for loading, unloading, stacking and short distance transportation of pallet goods. Forklifts are often used to transport large objects in warehouses, usually driven by fuel engines or batteries.
The technical parameters of the forklift are used to indicate the structural characteristics and working performance of the forklift. Main technical parameters include: rated lifting capacity, load center distance, maximum lifting height, gantry inclination, maximum driving speed, lifting speed , turning radius, ground clearance, etc.
Rated lifting capacity
The rated lifting weight of the forklift truck is the maximum weight of the goods allowed to be lifted when the distance from the center of gravity of the goods to the front wall of the forks is not greater than the center distance of the load, expressed in T (ton). When the center of gravity of the goods on the forks exceeds the specified load center distance, the lifting capacity should be reduced accordingly due to the limitation of the longitudinal stability of the forklift.
Load center distance
The horizontal distance T from the center of gravity to the front wall of the vertical section of the fork, expressed in mm (millimeters), when a standard load is placed on the fork. For 1T to 4T forklift trucks the specified load center distance is 500mm.
Max Lifting Height
The vertical distance between the upper surface of the horizontal section of the forks and the horizontal ground on which the forklift is located when the forklift is fully loaded and the load is raised to its highest position on a flat and solid ground.
Gantry inclination
The maximum angle of inclination of the door frame forward or backward with respect to its vertical position on a flat and solid surface for an unladen forklift. The role of the front tilt angle is to facilitate forking and unloading of cargo, The purpose of the rear tilt angle is to prevent the load from slipping off the forks when the forklift is running with the load. The general forklift has a front tilt angle of 3°~6° and a rear tilt angle of 10°~12°.
Speed of lifting
The maximum speed of cargo lifting when the forklift is fully loaded, expressed in m/min. Increase the maximum lifting speed, can improve the operational efficiency, but the lifting speed is too fast, easy to occur cargo damage and machine damage accidents.
Speed of travel
Increasing driving speed has a great impact on improving the operational efficiency of forklifts. For internal combustion forklifts with a lifting capacity of 1T, the minimum driving speed at full load is not less than 17m/min.
Turning radius
When the forklift truck is driving at low speed without load and turning with full steering wheel, the minimum distance from the outermost and innermost sides of the vehicle to the center of the turn is called the minimum outer turning radius Rmin outside and the minimum inner turning radius rmin inside, respectively. The smaller the minimum outside turning radius is, the smaller the ground area required for forklifts to turn and the better the maneuverability is.
Ground clearance
It is the distance from the lowest fixed point on the vehicle body to the ground beyond the wheels, and it indicates the ability of the forklift to cross the raised ground obstacle without collision. The larger the gap, the higher the passability of the forklift.
