» Five tips for using drive through racks

Using drive through racks can better manage your warehouse and help enterprises improve economic benefits. So how to better use drive through racks to maximize economic benefits? The following are five tips for using drive through racks.

Tip 1:

Drive through racks are continuous storage racks that are not divided by aisles. In simple terms, forklifts can enter the racks in a straight line to work. Therefore, when we use drive through racks, we should load and unload from one side, which can effectively improve work efficiency.

Tip 2:

There are two directions for picking up goods from drive through racks: one-way and two-way. The total depth of the racks in the wall area (one-way) should not exceed 6 pallet depths, and the total depth of the storage racks in the middle (two-way) area that can enter and exit at will should not exceed 12 pallet depths. This is to improve the operating efficiency and safety of forklifts. You can install guide rails according to the actual situation of your warehouse.

Tip 3:

Since the drive through rack system is less stable, we recommend that you do not set the racks too high (about 10 meters). Staff can also take reinforcement measures to facilitate the placement of goods.

Tip 4:

The amount of goods placed on the rack should not exceed the amount it can carry, generally controlled at around 1500 kg.

Tip 5:

Another point to note is that during the forklift operation, it is necessary to let experienced operators operate it, because improper behavior may cause the storage rack to collapse and cause unnecessary losses.
