The characteristic of a food warehouse is to store a large number of goods, but with a single type. The storage of food should ensure the quality and hygiene of the goods. Therefore, the storage capacity and quality of the warehouse are crucial. So what type of rack does the food warehouse need to use to meet the above requirements? Here are several commonly used storage racks for food warehouses!

    1. Heavy duty beam pallet racks

Heavy duty beam pallet rack structure is composed of cross braces, slant support, columns, and cross beams fixed by bolts, which can prevent the rack structure from loosening easily. The crossbeam is also made of cold-rolled composite beams, which have a strong load-bearing capacity and low cost. A safety pin is provided in the direction of the cross beam hanging teeth and the column to ensure that the cross beam can be as stable as Mount Tai under the collision of external forces. It greatly meets the first in, first out requirements of food warehouses, and can easily access goods by configuring common forklift types.

    2. Medium duty longspan shelves

Medium duty longspan shelves are a combination type of shelves, usually arranged as a combination of main shelves and sub-frame. The floor height is spaced at 50mm intervals and can be self-adjusted according to the height of the goods. However, the load-bearing capacity of medium duty longspan shelves can only be between 200 kilograms and 600 kilograms. If the load-bearing capacity is exceeded, the layers may deform, and severe overloading may lead to the shelves collapsing. Food warehouses that use manual storage and retrieval methods can choose this shelf type.

    3. Drive in racks

Drive in racks are a type of storage racks placed in a connected manner, eliminating entry and exit channels between racks, and maximizing the utilization of the warehouse area. The storage racks are merged together, providing almost twice the storage capacity of a typical pallet rack in the same space. However, the goods follow the principle of first in, last out. The storage and retrieval of goods come and go from the same side of the rack, and they are stored first and then retrieved. Balanced weights and forward-moving forklifts can easily drive into the center of the rack to access the goods, without occupying multiple channels. It is a type of rack that meets the storage requirements of food warehouses with a high degree of compatibility.

Of course, a high-quality food warehouse is planned based on the actual environment on site. The types of warehouse shelves mentioned above are not solely applicable and can be combined according to needs in a warehouse.
