Push back rack is a storage method that utilizes a first-in, first-out storage concept. The difference between push back racking and drive-in racking is that with drive-in racking, the forklift trucks have to drive inside the racking to pick up the goods, while with push back racking, the forklift trucks only have to work in the forklift aisle in front of the racking to access the goods.
Push back racks concentrate on the advantages of drive-in racking and gravity racking, which can realize single-end access, first-in-last-out, suitable for fewer varieties of batch goods storage, and is especially suitable for small-scale warehouses. The utilization rate can be as high as about 70%.
It allows pallets to be stored 2 to 6 deep on either side of the aisle, and with push back pallet racking you can combine the density of drive-in racking with the option of a single lane.
Advantages of push back rack:
1、Important features of push back systems are their ability to optimize available space and to load and unload materials quickly.
2、Push back racking is virtually maintenance-free, with less damage to columns because forklifts do not enter the system.
3、Push back racking structures have safety mechanisms for controlling and braking loads, reducing the risk to shuttle and roller systems and ensuring safe operation.
4、It’s the first choice for cold storage systems due to the high-pressure solidity and resistance of the roller and shuttle system at low temperatures.
Disadvantages of push back rack:
1、Only the pallets at the front of the system are easily accessible.
2、Because the system is on a small slope, some vertical height storage space may be lost.
3、The FILO (First In Last Out) method is not suitable for projects that require precise date rotation.
